Make-believe was written in the space of 55 hours and the rules were:

 

• A max. of 500 words.

• Your story must include a GIFT of some kind.

• Your story’s first sentence must contain only THREE words.

• You must use the following words somewhere in your story: PALM, MATCH, ROSE. (The mandatory words can be longer (e.g. “palms” or “matched”) as long as the original word is retained.)
