Kaleidoscope was written in the space of 55 hours and the rules were:

• A max. of 500 words.

• Your story must begin at sunrise.

• You must use the following words somewhere in your story: SIGNATURE, PATIENT, BICYCLE. The mandatory words can be longer (e.g. “signatures”) as long as the original word is retained.

• Your story must include a character who has to make a CHOICE.
